Riga Welcomes Ukrainian Film Days and Medical Awards
Organized to promote Ukrainian cinema, strengthen cultural diplomacy, and deepen bilateral relations, the three-day festival features four distinct feature films. The lineup features Yasa by director Serhiy Masloboyshchykov, Cuba & Alaska by director Yehor Troyanovskyi, Distant Consequences by director Kateryna Malokopieieva, and Well, Mum! by director Oleh Borshchevskyi.
Events at Splendid Palace and Ukrainian House
Festival events will unfold across two primary venues in Riga: the Splendid Palace cinema and the Ukrainian House in Latvia. The programme extends beyond public film screenings to foster direct professional collaboration between the two nations.
The schedule includes working meetings between Ukrainian and Latvian filmmakers, alongside a specialized masterclass hosted for students at the Latvian Academy of Culture. A key organizational highlight of the event will be the formal signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine and the Latvian Filmmakers Union.

Scheduled specifically for October 28, the award ceremony honors the professionalism, compassion, and daily dedication of medical professionals and those who support Ukraine in its struggle for freedom and independence.
