Ulsan Launches Free Influenza and COVID-19 Vaccinations for Residents Aged 65 and Older
Ulsan has initiated a free seasonal vaccination campaign for residents aged 65 and older to combat winter respiratory infections, cnbnews.com reported. The municipal government moved up the vaccination schedule compared to previous years due to recent infection trends, aiming to shield older adults from severe illness.
Staggered Rollout Dates for Older Adults
The campaign uses a phased timeline based on age groups to manage patient volume at medical facilities. Residents aged 75 and older began receiving their shots on October 6. Adults between 70 and 74 years old became eligible on October 12, while those aged 65 to 69 started receiving vaccinations on October 15. Pregnant individuals and children under specific age thresholds began their inoculations earlier on September 21.
Simultaneous Vaccination Options for Vulnerable Groups
Immunocompromised individuals aged 6 months and older, along with residents and patients in infection-prone facilities, gained access to shots starting October 12 regardless of age. Health officials note that while residents 75 and older faced differing initial dates for flu and COVID-19 vaccines, simultaneous administration for both shots became available across participating clinics starting October 12.
Residents Find Vaccination Sites Through Immunization DoDream Website
Shots are administered at designated contracted medical clinics and local public health centers. Residents can verify nearby participating locations through the Immunization DoDream website. Patients must bring a government-issued photo ID to their appointment and are advised to remain at the facility for 20 to 30 minutes of observation following the injection to monitor for any adverse reactions.
