No. 2 Richmond Dominates UMass Men’s Lacrosse, Securing 21-7 Victory
AMHERST, Mass. – The No. 2 Richmond Spiders defeated the University of Massachusetts Amherst men’s lacrosse team 21-7 on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Garber Field. Despite an early goal from UMass redshirt sophomore Dylan Johnson, Richmond quickly took control and maintained a lead throughout the remainder of the game.
Game Highlights
Dylan Johnson opened the scoring for UMass at the 13:22 mark of the first quarter, giving the Minutemen a brief 1-0 advantage. However, Richmond responded with two quick goals, and never trailed again.
Richmond’s offense proved to be overwhelming, led by Aidan O’Neil, who recorded seven points with three goals and four assists. Lucas Littlejohn contributed four goals and an assist, while Daniel Picart added a hat trick and an assist. Joe Sheridan, Jack Ricciardi, and Leo Caine also had multiple points for the Spiders.
For UMass, sophomore Robbie Granara led the scoring with four goals and an assist, totaling five points. Junior Matthew Cargiulo and freshman Thomas Bagnall each added two assists.
