UMD Women’s Basketball: Moorjani, Bjorge, and Karge Earn All-NSIC Honors

The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women’s basketball team saw three of its players recognized with All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) honors, the conference announced on February 26, 2026. Senior guard Myra Moorjani secured a First Team selection, while sophomore shooting guard Claire Bjorge and senior forward Lexi Karge both earned Second Team recognition. UMD Athletics is partnering with Minnesota Power, ALLETE to highlight the Bulldogs accomplishments in the 3 C’s: Classroom, Competition, Community.

Moorjani’s Standout Season

Myra Moorjani, a senior from Eden Prairie, Minnesota, has been a key contributor for the Bulldogs this season. She is currently averaging 13.6 points, 1.4 steals, 3.1 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game. Moorjani leads or ties several of the team’s season-highs, including field goal attempts (18), three-point field goals made (5), three-point field goal attempts (11), free throws made (8), and assists (10). As of the NSIC Tournament Quarterfinals, she has accumulated 339 points, 34 steals, 8 blocks, 76 assists, and 87 rebounds.

Bjorge’s Sophomore Success

Claire Bjorge, a sophomore hailing from De Pere, Wisconsin, has demonstrated significant growth in her second season with the Bulldogs. She is averaging 13 points, 1.8 steals, 3.1 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game. Bjorge currently holds the team’s season-highs in points (25), field goals made (10), and steals (7). She has totaled 337 points, 47 steals, 9 blocks, 80 assists, and 85 rebounds heading into the NSIC Tournament Quarterfinals.

Karge Reaches Milestone

Lexi Karge, a senior forward from Mankato, Minnesota, has too been recognized for her consistent performance. She is on track to average 11.2 points, 1.1 blocks, and 5.3 rebounds per game. Karge leads the team in single-game free throw attempts (11) and blocked shots (4) this season. She has recorded 290 points, 11 steals, 28 blocks, 23 assists, and 139 rebounds. Notably, Karge surpassed the 1,000-career points milestone this season.

NSIC Tournament Quarterfinals

Moorjani, Bjorge, Karge, and the rest of the Bulldogs will compete in the NSIC Tournament Quarterfinals against Winona State University on Sunday, February 28, 2026. The game is scheduled to initiate at 1:30 p.m. At the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
