Underscores Announces New Album, ‘U’
After months of anticipation, singer-songwriter and producer Underscores, also known as April Harper Grey, has revealed details of her upcoming third studio album, U. The album is set for release on March 20 via Mom + Pop Records.
The announcement follows the release of lead singles “Music,” “Do It,” and “Tell Me (U Want It).” Grey shared in press materials that the album is “Music for malls, airports, hotels, supermarkets. I wrote these songs for U,” and reportedly penned at least one track while at the Mall of America.

About Underscores
April Harper Grey, born April 21, 2000, in San Francisco, California, began her musical journey releasing dubstep on SoundCloud at the age of 13. She has since expanded her sound to encompass genres including hyperpop, pop-punk, dubstep, indie pop, rock, and Midwest emo. Grey rose to prominence with her debut album, Fishmonger, in March 2021, and followed it with Wallsocket in September 2023.
Her musical influences include Skrillex and 100 gecs, while Wallsocket drew inspiration from artists such as Madonna, Imogen Heap, Bruce Springsteen, and Sufjan Stevens, as well as country music, 2010s pop, and horror films. Underscores is signed to Mom + Pop, Corporate Rock, musicDeadAir, and Bitbird labels.
