The Centro Asociado “Andrés de Vandelvira” of the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) in Jaén is expanding its academic catalogue for the 2026–2027 academic year by introducing four new degree and double degree programs at its Úbeda facility, according to regional announcements.
New Degree Programs and Interdisciplinary Offerings in Úbeda
According to the Diputación Provincial de Jaén, the newly added qualifications at the Úbeda venue include a single degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, alongside three double degrees: Psychology and Criminology, Mathematics and Physics, and Economics and Mathematics.
Enrollment for these programs is currently open. University administrators designed the curricula to address contemporary professional requirements without imposing enrollment caps or minimum grade cutoffs, known locally as notas de corte. This open-access model aligns with the UNED’s framework for high-demand and strategic educational offerings.
Strategic Academic Planning and Institutional Support
The newly introduced courses fall directly under the UNED’s Plan Plurianual para la Ampliación de la Oferta de Titulaciones Universitarias de Alta Demanda y de Elevado Valor Estratégico 2026–2029, a multi-year strategy to scale career-focused education.

Francisco Javier Lozano, the provincial deputy for Promotion and Tourism, stated during the official presentation that the university continuously adapts to student needs through continuous retraining initiatives. Lozano appeared alongside Vicente Ruiz, director of the UNED in Jaén, and José Miguel Gámez, councilman for University and World Heritage for the Ayuntamiento de Úbeda, to outline the expansion.
Lozano emphasized the Diputación Provincial’s ongoing role as a primary financial and administrative backer of the provincial university network, noting that the administration also supports auxiliary cultural programs tied to the academic calendar throughout the year.
