University of Sonora Students Launch Hygiene Drive for Women at Hermosillo Cereso

Students from the Accounting Department at the University of Sonora (Unison) are spearheading a donation drive to collect personal hygiene items for women incarcerated at the Centro de Reinserción Social No. 1 (Cereso) in Hermosillo. The initiative, launched in conjunction with International Women’s Day, aims to provide essential supplies to those in necessitate.

Campaign Details

María José Badilla Real, an eighth-semester student, explained that the drive was inspired by the observance of International Women’s Day on March 8th. Collected items will be delivered on March 13th. The campaign invites participation from both the university community and the general public.

“Right now we are collecting personal hygiene items such as feminine towels, bath soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush and everything that comes with personal hygiene,” said Badilla Real.

Donation Information

Donations are being accepted in person from 7:00 a.m. To 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the student office within the Accounting Department headquarters, located in building 9Q3 on the Hermosillo campus. For those unable to deliver donations in person, a pick-up service is available.
