Uralvagonzavod Engineer Receives National Recognition for Ferrous Metallurgy

An engineer from Uralvagonzavod, a key enterprise within the Rostec State Corporation, has been recognized as one of Russia’s top engineers. The specialist was awarded a personal certificate and the “Professional Engineer of Russia” sign at the All-Russian competition “Engineer of the Year – 2025” in the category of “Ferrous Metallurgy.” The awards ceremony took place in Moscow.

Innovation in Foundry Technology

The Uralvagonzavod engineer’s work centers on the design of pattern-core equipment for modern, high-performance foundries and the improvement of casting manufacturing technology. The engineer has successfully developed and implemented eight patents for inventions and utility models. This dedication to innovation was previously acknowledged at the state level with a scholarship from the President of Russia in 2024.

Improving Production Efficiency

The engineer’s contributions have significantly streamlined production processes. Specifically, preparation time and costs for producing cast parts for combat vehicles have been reduced threefold. The engineer facilitated the conversion of assembly units of military and special equipment into single cast parts, enhancing efficiency and reducing material waste.

New Casting Production Capabilities

Uralvagonzavod successfully mastered the production of castings from high-strength cast iron, thanks to the engineer’s design of equipment to produce the “Wedge” part for wagon bogies of various modifications. This marks a first for the enterprise and expands its capabilities in producing durable and reliable components.

Commitment to Engineering Excellence

“I am incredibly pleased that Uralvagonzavod nominated me. When I went to the awards ceremony, I felt proud – not for myself, but for our entire enterprise! After all, in 2025 I was the only participant from Uralvagonzavod. I am sure that the experience and achievements of our engineers are more than enough for us to participate and win such competitions every year!” said the engineer.

The “Engineer of the Year” Competition

The “Engineer of the Year” competition, organized by the Russian Union of Scientific and Engineering Public Associations, is Russia’s largest social project dedicated to recognizing the professionalism of engineering workers and disseminating best practices across production, education, and science. More than 70,000 specialists participated in the 2025 competition, vying for recognition in 51 professional categories.
