The ACCC has officially recalled a 5-in-1 portable nursery center sold through major online retailers, including Amazon and Costway Wholesale. The product, which is marketed as a multi-functional bassinet, bed, sleeper, baby crib, activity center, and changing table, failed to meet the mandatory safety standards for infant sleep products in Australia.
According to the ACCC product safety notice, the cot poses a significant hazard of entrapment and suffocation to infants. Regulators confirmed that at least one incident involving the product has already been reported.
Owners should identify the product by checking for SKU: BB0505. If your unit matches this SKU, stop using it immediately. The ACCC instructs consumers to return the item to the original place of purchase to arrange for a free replacement or resolution.
Infant Snowsuit Recall
In a separate safety action, Best and Less has recalled a line of quilted baby snowsuits due to a choking hazard. The garments, which feature pink floral or cream bear designs, were sold nationally both in-store and online between April 16 and June 11.
The recall was prompted by a defect in the snap fasteners, which can detach from the fabric during use. Should a fastener become loose, it poses a severe risk of choking if swallowed by an infant.
