Southbound U.S. 75 Reopens in Plano After Fiery Rollover Crash

PLANO, TEXAS – All southbound lanes of U.S. 75 in Plano reopened Tuesday morning after a major crash involving a vehicle fire, according to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and Plano Police Department. The incident caused significant rush hour delays.

Crash Details

Police responded to a “serious crash” on U.S. 75 around 6:20 a.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2026. A vehicle lost control, overturned, and caught fire. The driver was able to safely exit the vehicle before fire crews extinguished the flames.

Initial reports from the scene indicated the vehicle struck a wall along the highway. Emergency responders were dispatched to the location and worked to clear the scene.

Traffic Impact and Diversions

All southbound lanes of U.S. 75 at President George Bush Turnpike were initially closed shortly after 6:30 a.m., causing major traffic backups. TxDOT cameras showed significant congestion. Traffic was diverted onto the President George Bush Turnpike.

One lane reopened around 7:00 a.m., and all lanes were fully cleared by 7:49 a.m., according to TxDOT.

Injuries

No life-threatening injuries were reported in connection with the crash.

Ongoing Investigation

The Plano Police Department did not immediately release further details about the cause of the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
