US Carcassonne Alters Nine Starting Positions for Périgueux Clash at Albert-Domec
US Carcassonne will host Périgueux this Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Stade Albert-Domec for the seventh round of the Nationale season, following a 35-23 away defeat against Chambéry, lindependant.fr reported.
New Starters Replace Nine Players in Tactical Shake-Up
The tactical shake-up introduces fresh faces across the pack and the backline. Props Thomas Agati and Chris Talakai, alongside back-rowers Bilal Fadli, Étienne Herjean—returning to competitive action nearly a year and a half after his last appearance—and Thomas Hoarau, step into the starting lineup. In the backs, fly-half Jérôme Bosviel, winger Nils Chaliès, and centres Mathys Barka and Dorian Lavernhe also earn starting nods. They replace Dino Casadei, Théo Sauzaret, Clément Doumenc, Pierre Gayraud, Ferdinand Dréno, Alexandre Perez, Tomasi Seru, Jordan Puletua, and Théo Vassallo.
Meanwhile, the treatment room remains crowded for Carcassonne. Tighthead prop Fabien Lorenzon, locks Nils Punti due to an ankle injury and Lopeti Timani, loose forwards Clément Doumenc with an ankle issue, Ferdinand Dréno, and Maxime Millan—recovering from anterior cruciate ligament surgery—alongside winger Owen Lane and his ankle injury, are all sidelined. A lengthy group of players, including props Angus Wagner, talooneurs Giorgi Agniashvili and Otis Spruytte, and scrum-halves Tomas Munilla, Jules Ourliac, and Maxence Crouzil, were left out of the matchday squad entirely.
Confirmed Matchday Squad for Albert-Domec
The revised starting XV features Maxime Gianet at fullback, flanked by wingers Rémi Boulan and Nils Chalies. Dorian Lavernhe and Mathys Barka form the midfield partnership, inside the half-back pairing of Jérôme Bosviel at fly-half and Samuel Marques at scrum-half. The loose forward trio includes Bilal Fadli, Thomas Hoarau, and Étienne Herjean. Romain Manchia captains the side from the second row alongside Baptiste Peytavi, while Chris Talakai, Andrew Quattrin, and Thomas Agati comprise the front row.
Replacements named for the bench are Pierre Strippoli, Thierry Futeu, Pierre Gayraud, Grégoire Labit, Corentin Bousquet, Gaëtan Pichon, Tomasi Seru, and Nicolas Fenuafanote.
