Putin Discusses Ukraine Peace Plan with US Envoys
Jakarta – Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Jared Kushner, son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, and US special envoy Steve Witkoff at the Kremlin. This meeting occurred after Putin indicated Russia’s readiness too continue fighting to achieve its initial war objectives.
This is a critical moment for Ukraine, expected to be a tense week following intensive diplomatic efforts. The core of these discussions centered on a US peace plan, which was later adjusted based on feedback from kyiv and its European allies.
Regarding the occupied Ukrainian territories, Yuri Ushakov, Russia’s top presidential advisor, stated after the Moscow meeting, “So far we have not found a compromise, but some American solutions can be discussed.” He added, “some of the proposed formulas are not suitable for us, and work will continue.”
