USD Men’s Basketball Falls to San Francisco 92-79

SAN DIEGO – The University of San Diego (USD) men’s basketball team suffered a 92-79 defeat against the University of San Francisco (USF) on Sunday afternoon at the Jenny Craig Pavilion. Despite a competitive first half, the Toreros were unable to withstand a strong second-half performance from the Dons.

Game Recap

The first half featured a back-and-forth battle between the two West Coast Conference (WCC) teams, with USD taking a narrow 41-36 lead into halftime. However, USF opened the second half with a decisive 12-0 run, shifting the momentum in their favor. The Dons maintained their lead throughout the remainder of the game, ultimately securing a 13-point victory.

USF’s success was fueled by their efficiency at the free-throw line (27-35) and a significant advantage in fastbreak points (+16). The game featured 11 ties and 12 lead changes before USF pulled ahead.

Graduate guards Dominique Ford and Toneari Lane led the Toreros in scoring with 16 points each. Adrian McIntyre added 14 points to the effort. Redshirt-junior Emmanuel Callas achieved career highs in points (6), rebounds (6) and steals (3).
