USI Divers Pollock and Deputy Set to Compete at NCAA Zone C Championships

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana (USI) senior Lane Pollock and junior Nathan Deputy are preparing to compete at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships, taking place Monday and Tuesday in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Championship Schedule

Deputy will begin competition on Monday at 1 p.m. In the three-meter diving event. Pollock will follow on Tuesday, also at 1 p.m., competing in the one-meter event.

The championships consist of preliminary and final rounds. 55 divers will participate in the preliminary rounds for both the one-meter and three-meter dives, with the top 18 advancing to the finals. Finals are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. On the same day as the preliminary rounds.

To qualify for the NCAA Championships, divers must finish within the top eight in the one-meter or top ten in the three-meter.

Deputy’s Season Highlights

Deputy qualified for the Zone Championships with a school-record-breaking performance of 333.05 in the three-meter dive against Evansville . He also competed at the Summit League Championships, reaching the finals of the three-meter event with a preliminary score of 281.45 and finishing seventh overall with a score of 277.65 in the finals.

Pollock’s Season Highlights

Pollock secured his NCAA Zone spot with a school-record score of 309.83 in the one-meter dive against Evansville . At the Summit League Championships, he finished fourth in the one-meter event, scoring 264.55 in the preliminary round and 304.70 in the finals.
