UW-Oshkosh Women’s Gymnastics Claims Sixth Straight WIAC Championship, Sets Division III Records

WINONA, Minn. – The UW-Oshkosh women’s gymnastics team secured its sixth consecutive Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championship on March 7, 2026, at Winona State University’s McCown Gymnasium. The Titans’ performance was historic, breaking Division III scoring records and earning them a berth in the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Championship.

Record-Breaking Performance

UW-Oshkosh achieved a total score of 195.175, becoming the first Division III school to surpass the 195-point mark in a single meet. This surpassed the team’s previous program record of 194.975, set during the 2024 NCGA Championship [UW Oshkosh Titans]. In addition to the overall score, new event records were established on vault and balance beam.

The Titans recorded a 48.775 on vault, exceeding the previous record of 48.5. On balance beam, they achieved a score of 49.125, surpassing the prior record of 48.85 [Advance Titan]. UWO also scored 48.775 on floor and 48.5 on uneven bars.

Individual Achievements and Honors

Senior Reanna McGibboney was named the WIAC Gymnast of the Year, becoming the third gymnast in Oshkosh history to receive the honor, following Delaney Cienkus (2025) and Emily Buffington (2022) [Advance Titan]. McGibboney won the vault title with a score of 9.85 and tied for second place on the floor exercise.

Freshman Ome Ellis set a new individual balance beam record with a score of 9.925, breaking Tiffany Barden’s longstanding program record of 9.9 set in 1998 [Archyde].

All-WIAC designations on vault were awarded to freshman Kris Phillips, senior Amaya McConkay, and junior Kasha Muraski. Lydia Hayden finished third on balance beam and tied for first on uneven bars with a score of 9.8, alongside UW-Whitewater’s Elaine Copeland. Junior Jay Ratkowski led all performers on floor, finishing in first place with a score of 9.8.

Looking Ahead to the NCGA Championship

The UW-Oshkosh Titans will now compete in the NCGA Championship, scheduled for March 20 at SUNY Cortland. They will be aiming for their sixth overall NCGA title and fourth in the last five years [Archyde]. The championship is set to begin at noon central time.

Both UW-Oshkosh and UW-Whitewater, who finished as the runner-up with a score of 193.825, secured automatic berths into the NCGA Championship [UW Oshkosh Titans].
