Shots Fired at Vaughan Home Days After Attempted Arson
York Regional Police are investigating after a home in Vaughan was targeted in a shooting just days after an attempt was made to set a vehicle on fire at the same property. The incidents occurred near Kleinburg Summit Way and First Nations Trail.
Initial Arson Attempt
On Monday, shortly before 3 a.m., two suspects allegedly poured gasoline on a vehicle parked in the driveway of the home, according to CP24. The suspects attempted to ignite the vehicle but were unsuccessful.
Subsequent Shooting
Two days later, on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at approximately 9:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunshots at the same residence, as reported by York Regional Police and NewmarketToday. Shell casings were discovered on the driveway. No injuries were reported, according to YorkRegion.com.
Suspect Descriptions
Police are searching for two male suspects. One suspect was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and black shoes. The other was wearing a red bandana, a black-hooded sweater, a white t-shirt, black sweatpants, and black and grey shoes, CP24 reported.
Ongoing Investigation
A black SUV was observed fleeing the scene after the shooting. York Regional Police are investigating and are aware of videos circulating online that may have been posted by the suspects. They are asking anyone with information to come forward. According to YorkRegion.com, at least three suspects were believed to be involved, arriving in the black SUV with face coverings and dark clothing.
