Viral Vegan Recipes Draw Millions of Views on YouTube

Popular online recipe videos are reshaping how home cooks approach plant-based cooking, led by creators who have accumulated millions of views on individual dishes. Creators such as Nisha Vora of Rainbow Plant Life and Wil Yeung of Yeung Man Cooking have turned standard vegan meals into viral hits. Fifteen distinct plant-based recipe videos have surpassed half a million views each, with the most-watched video pulling in 12 million views.

Lentil Patties and Garlic Chili Noodles Lead View Counts

The highest-viewed recipe in the viral round-up belongs to We Cook Vegan, whose lentil patties video generated over 12 million views. The patties combine simple pantry ingredients to create a crispy exterior and tender interior. Meanwhile, Wil Yeung’s video for garlic chili noodles on his Yeung Man Cooking channel crossed 6 million views. Yeung’s channel is known for its meditative and beautiful approach to home cooking, making the bold-garlic and fiery-chili dish accessible to viewers discovering plant-based meals for the first time.

Plant-Based Curries and Casseroles Attract Millions of Views

Plant-based curries and comforting casseroles make up a substantial portion of the viral catalog. Rainbow Plant Life’s red lentil curry secured 3.7 million views and more than 2,000 five-star reviews. Nisha Vora designed the dish specifically to impress skeptics who consider vegan food boring, serving it without a drop of dairy. Food Impromptu also captured millions of views with a Mexican-inspired rice and bean dish at 5 million views and a chickpea-and-vegetable casserole at 3.1 million views. The casserole includes a detailed written recipe in the video description box for home cooks who prefer text instructions over video playback.

Professional Techniques and Fritters Expand the Menu

Michelin-starred techniques and crispy textures have also found a massive digital audience. Chef David Lee of the plant-based restaurant Planta appeared in a CBC feature covering vegan burger secrets, drawing 2.6 million views for a masterclass on juicy, savory patties. Alongside Lee’s burgers, Wil Yeung’s super crispy chickpea fritters matched that 2.6 million view count overnight by demonstrating how to achieve crunchiness without deep frying. Additional viral entries include Rainbow Plant Life’s chickpea curry at 2.2 million views and Mark Stache’s vegan meatloaf at 1.7 million views, rounding out a digital shift toward comfort food classics adapted for plant-based diets.
