Volleyball Franches-Montagnes (VFM) has announced it will not be renewing the contract of head coach Melanie Cina at the end of the current season. The decision, revealed on Monday evening, aims to provide the team with “new impetus” as they look to the future. The club is currently seeking a successor, having already defined a “precise profile” for the role, but has not yet initiated contact with any candidates.

Melanie Cina stated she was “surprised by the chronology of this declaration.” She explained that discussions regarding a contract renewal were underway, making the decision unexpected. Despite her surprise, Cina has committed to fulfilling her duties until the end of her current contract. Currently, the VFM team holds the 6th position in the championship standings and has secured a place in the play-offs following a 3-0 victory against Toggenburg on Sunday. They are also competing in the quarter-final of the Swiss Cup against Kanti Baden. “I have pride and work ethic.I will give everything,” Cina affirmed.
