Vitestro Secures $70 Million Series B to Advance Autonomous Robotic Phlebotomy
Dutch medical robotics company Vitestro has successfully closed an oversubscribed Series B financing round, raising $70 million to accelerate the development and commercialization of its Aletta® Autonomous Robotic Phlebotomy Device™ (ARPD™). The funding will be used to refine the robotics platform for automated blood collection, prepare for market launch, and expand clinical studies.

Vitestro, based in Utrecht, is pioneering a system designed to automate the entire diagnostic blood collection process. The Aletta® ARPD™ combines robotics, multimodal imaging, and artificial intelligence to identify suitable veins, precisely guide needle insertion, and collect blood samples with high accuracy and consistency. Vitestro aims to improve the efficiency, standardization, and patient experience of a procedure performed billions of times annually worldwide.

A portion of the funding will be dedicated to preparing for the FDA approval process through the de novo pathway in the United States.
