Emma Aicher Claims Super-G World Cup Victory in Tarvisio

Tarvisio, Italy – German skier Emma Aicher emerged victorious in the super-G World Cup race held in Tarvisio, Italy, on january 18, 2026. Aicher secured the win with a commanding performance, finishing 27 hundredths of a second ahead of American skiing icon Lindsey Vonn. Czech athlete Ester Ledecká rounded out the podium, placing third with a time 94 hundredths of a second slower than Aicher’s.

Notably absent from the competition was American Mikaela Shiffrin, the current overall leader in the Super-G standings.

Aicher’s win marks her fourth career World Cup triumph and her second of the current season. She previously secured a victory in St. Moritz, Switzerland, last December. The German skier attributed her success to a strong and consistent run, particularly in the challenging lower section of the course.

“Today was a great ride from the start to the finish, I’m very satisfied,” Aicher stated in a post-race interview with austrian ORF television. “I also managed the final sector without mistakes, which I sometimes have problems with during the race.”

The results also impacted the super-G standings, with Italian skier Sofia Goggi moving into the lead, surpassing Australian Alice Robinson following her sixth-place finish. The Slovakian team did not participate in this event.
