Major global financial institutions, including BlackRock and Goldman Sachs, are partnering with Nvidia to establish a $5000억달러 financing pool aimed at funding artificial intelligence infrastructure, according to reports by Bloomberg and the Financial Times.

Nvidia and Six Major Investment Firms Form $5000억달러 AI Infrastructure Fund

Six major investment firms—Apollo, Blackstone, BlackRock, Brookfield, Goldman Sachs, and KKR—announced a joint initiative on December 10 to provide dedicated capital for Nvidia’s customers. According to a joint statement from the firms, the partnership will establish a significant pool of dedicated capital offering attractive financing rates for data center construction and computing resources. Nvidia Chief Executive Jensen Huang stated that the financial platform brings together global long-term capital providers to independently fund AI infrastructure. Huang explained in a CNBC interview that the capital will be sourced entirely through third-party investors managed by the six participating financial institutions.

Debt Financing and Credit Ratings for Compute Expansion

While specific timelines and structural details remain largely undisclosed, management teams confirmed to Bloomberg that the initiative focuses on debt financing to help major customers secure necessary computing power. BlackRock CEO Larry Fink noted in a CNBC interview that future transactions will maintain high credit ratings, offering attractive yields on debt investments for investors heavily exposed to equities. This modern push follows a similar alliance formed two years ago by BlackRock, Microsoft, and the United Arab Emirates investment vehicle MGX to finance data center development.

SoftBank, OpenAI, and Potential Infrastructure Guarantees

Prior to the formal $5000억달러 announcement, Bloomberg reported that Nvidia discussed guaranteeing up to $2500억달러 for a SoftBank Group subsidiary, SB Energy. The proposed arrangement involves developing a 10-gigawatt data center campus in Ohio intended for OpenAI lease agreements. Sources indicated that those discussions also covered potential mechanisms for OpenAI to secure $3500억달러 in financing specifically to purchase Nvidia chips. If finalized, the arrangement would represent Nvidia’s largest customer funding commitment to date, though concrete deal structures continue to evolve across the sector.
