Wanju County Expands Integrated Care Network with Private Welfare Agencies
Wanju County has established a public-private care network to connect integrated care recipients with essential daily services quickly, Newspim reported Oct. 27. The regional initiative brings together local private organizations to address gaps in community care through coordinated resource sharing and targeted support programs.
Daily Living and Medical Support Services
The public-private partnership delivers hands-on assistance across several domestic and health-related areas, including hospital escort services, residential environment improvements, hygiene support, and dietary provisions. The Wanju County Social Economy Network deploys teams to provide hospital accompaniments, minor home repairs, and storage organization services that upgrade living conditions for vulnerable residents.
Simultaneously, the Wanju County Social Welfare Council operates a resident care support service for hospital trips. The council also runs the “Wanju-ae Diaper Support Project”—a specialized integrated care initiative—alongside the “Good Neighbors” program, which distributes grocery care packages to low-income households.
Targeting Welfare Blind Spots
County officials designed the collaborative framework to overcome the limitations of isolated agencies tackling complex social needs alone. By linking institutional resources and specialized programs, the administration aims to shrink care gaps and eliminate welfare blind spots throughout the region.
The resources and capabilities of local private organizations are providing practical help to integrated care recipients,
Wanju County Mayor Yoo Hee-tae said. We will leverage the strengths of each institution and connect necessary services to broaden the scope of care that can be resolved within the local community.
Community Integration and Regular Consultations
Local private entities, including the Wanju County Social Economy Network and the Wanju County Social Welfare Council, take part in regular integrated support meetings. These sessions evaluate the living conditions and welfare demands of local residents while matching specific agency capabilities to individual cases.
