Washington Huskies Men’s Soccer Adds Syracuse Transfer Callum Lugton

SEATTLE – The Washington Huskies men’s soccer program has secured a transfer commitment from Syracuse University forward Callum Lugton, head coach Jamie Clark announced on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. Lugton, a Portland, Oregon native, returns to the Pacific Northwest to continue his collegiate career.

Lugton’s Background and Syracuse Experience

Lugton appeared in four matches for the Syracuse Orange in the 2025 season, totaling 27 minutes of playing time. Syracuse University Athletics lists him as a 5-foot-11-inch freshman forward.

Portland Timbers Academy and Youth National Team

Prior to his time at Syracuse, Lugton developed through the Portland Timbers Academy, where he led his team to the 2022 Generation Adidas Cup Championship. The University of Washington Athletics website notes his success with the Timbers Academy. He also received a call-up to the USA 15U national team in January 2022.

“We are delighted to have Callum coming back to the PNW,” said Coach Clark. “He was one of the best attacking players in the 2025 recruiting class. He got a great taste of college soccer at Syracuse last season, and will be ready to make a large contribution in 2026.” Clark also emphasized Lugton’s operate ethic and versatility, stating, “Callum is our sort of player…He has the ability to score goals which is key, but he’s also a hard worker that’s willing to do all the things on both sides of the ball to make his team successful.”
