TV anime “I want to eat you, Hitodeashi” music serial project “The Story I want to Listen to” Episode 12: Rena Ueda (role of Hinako, 800 years old), Yui Ishikawa (role of Shiori Omi), Ai Fairuz (role of Miko)
The TV anime `I want to eat you, Hitodeashi'' is currently being broadcast. In order to get closer to the charm of this music, we are planning a series of interviews with people involved in the music of this work, `The story I Want to Listen to”! The 12th is a special edition relay interview! We asked rena Ueda, Yui Ishikawa, and Ai Fairuz to talk about their thoughts on playing their characters.
Rena Ueda × Hinako Yaoyo
Hinako is a girl who began to have strange dreams and discovered that she was an immortal being who had lived for 800 years.Rena Ueda is the voice actress who plays this mysterious character.
“When I first read the script,I was struck by Hinako’s loneliness. She’s lived for 800 years, but she’s still a young girl at heart. I wanted to portray that contrast, the weight of her long life and the innocence of her emotions.”
Ueda also spoke about the challenges of portraying an immortal character.”It’s difficult to imagine what it would be like to live for 800 years.I tried to focus on the idea that Hinako has seen a lot of things,experienced a lot of loss,and yet still retains a sense of wonder.”
She continued, “The music in ‘I want to eat you, Hitodeashi’ is really beautiful and evocative. It helped me to connect with Hinako’s emotions and bring her to life.”
On the other hand, Miko-chan is a kind person who quietly watches over Hinako. Though, due to his involvement with Shiori, his past and secrets were forced out…There is something unique about “Watabe” in that it doesn’t simply have a happy ending, but the relationship between Hinako and Miko-chan would have remained stagnant if Shiori hadn’t shown up, so in a sense that might have been a good thing. Because of that incident, Hinako was able to reacquaint herself with Miko-chan as a friend.
――Please tell us the points from the episodes that have aired so far that you would like people to watch over and over again.
ueda: Hinako says “hitodenashi” several times in the main story, and the tension is different each time.
