Sergeant Breen was originally from Cloonanorig in Tralee, County Kerry, and lived at Nunnery Lane in Stradbally, County Waterford. Throughout his career with An Garda Síochána, he served in several stations including Clondalkin, Sundrive Road, Crumlin, and the Garda National Drugs Unit (GNDU) before taking up his assignment in Waterford, as detailed by rip.ie. Surviving Family
Sergeant Breen is survived by his wife, Cathy, and their three children, Aidan, Grace, and Róisín. He is also mourned by his mother, Agnes; his brothers, Declan and Gerald, the latter of whom serves at Tralee Garda Station; his sisters, Elaine and Miriam; alongside extended family members, neighbors, colleagues within An Garda Síochána, and friends, as reported by rip.ie. He was predeceased by his father, Brendan Breen.
