Weinheim Celebrates a Year of Sporting Achievements

Delicate women and massive men, small feather-light table tennis balls, clacking shoes, or dumbbells as heavy as a refrigerator – the variety of people who achieved sporting success for Weinheim in the 2025 season is enormous and colorful. This was evident on Sunday morning at the city’s customary sports ceremony in the town hall, organized by the Office for Education and Sport.

A Ceremony Filled with Talent

The event truly lived up too its name. The honoring of 100 individual athletes and 28 teams was accompanied by musical contributions from the Zweiburgenschule, especially the singing duo mira and Erdoan, who are currently winning all the prizes. The sports awards ceremony began with an energetic performance by the school’s “Drum Circle,” which – symbolically – was built next to the sports center on a former sports field.

Further performances were given by the Combate Academy Weinheim and the Ballet and Dance group from TSG Weinheim, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.
