“Kad mežā valdīja zaķis” transports audiences to a unique forest where a rabbit unexpectedly holds a position of power. This isn’t a typical woodland story. the narrative features a wolf fronting a rock band, a crow running a fashion atelier, and bookworms as the only ones who can read. The play explores themes of individuality and courage, encouraging young viewers to embrace their unique qualities.
The storyline centers around a rabbit who has declared himself the sole expert in Easter egg dyeing, dictating not only the colors and prices but also how one should think, celebrate, and feel during the holiday. The performance questions what happens when opportunities for self-expression are denied, and highlights the power of even a small voice to challenge established norms.
