Discussion about Corona Information – Update (January 25, 2026)
The World Health organization (WHO) is defending its handling of information dissemination during the COVID-19 pandemic, responding to past accusations from the united States. The WHO asserts that it promptly informed governments worldwide about the emerging cases of unusual illness in China in early January 2020, urging preventative measures. The United states, under then-President Donald Trump, initiated the process of withdrawing from the WHO in 2020. This withdrawal was completed on July 6, 2023. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-officially-withdraws-who-2023-07-06/ As of today, January 25, 2026, the WHO has not issued a statement regarding a potential rejoining of the organization by the United States.
