According to Steiner, this methodical mindset aligns with Tech3’s strategy to prioritize careful, measured progress over erratic decision-making as the team transitions to new technical rules.
“I already met him several times; for example, in Monza at the F1 race, we spent about 45 minutes together,” Steiner stated regarding his interactions with Marini.
Steiner aims to counteract the baseline anxiety common among MotoGP riders by implementing a philosophy he describes as slowing down to accelerate, ensuring structural changes are handled with precision.
Roster Shakeups at Tech3 for 2027
Marini’s impending arrival coincides with significant changes to the Tech3 garage. Current rider Enea Bastianini is set to leave the team for Trackhouse Aprilia, while his teammate Maverick Vinales faces an uncertain future after exiting the premier class without a confirmed 2027 seat. Before stepping into his new role alongside Agius, Marini must finish the current campaign with Honda, where he currently sits 11th in the world championship standings as the top-performing rider on the RC213V across his final seven rounds with the manufacturer.
