SentinelOne shares trade at a price-to-sales ratio of 6.6 based on trailing 12-month revenue, positioning the cybersecurity stock significantly cheaper than major competitors CrowdStrike and Palo Alto Networks as artificial intelligence reshapes enterprise security budgets, according to financial data from The Motley Fool.
AI Enterprise Adoption Drives Cybersecurity Demand
Artificial intelligence is transforming the threat landscape by expanding the attack surface for enterprise networks, according to reporting by The Motley Fool. When businesses deploy automated agents and chatbots, they expose sensitive data and internal systems to sophisticated threats. To counter these risks, SentinelOne operates its Singularity platform to secure endpoints, cloud networks, user identities, and deployed AI applications.
During the fiscal 2027 second quarter, which ended July 31, SentinelOne reported $1.2 billion in annual recurring revenue, representing a 22% increase year over year. Demand for dedicated artificial intelligence protection surged at an even faster pace. According to company data cited by The Motley Fool, annual recurring revenue tied directly to AI products like Purple AI and Prompt Security nearly tripled during the period.
Targeted AI Protection Tools and Financial Metrics
SentinelOne developed specific tools to address emerging artificial intelligence vulnerabilities. Prompt Security protects enterprise systems against prompt injection attacks, where malicious actors attempt to manipulate chatbots into leaking confidential data. The tool simultaneously inventories every chatbot and agent operating within an organization to detect unauthorized applications.
To assist human analysts working under modern attack speeds, SentinelOne deployed Purple AI, an agentic assistant embedded inside the Singularity platform. Purple AI uses advanced reasoning to autonomously investigate and respond to active threats across enterprise networks.
Financial results show the company absorbing operational losses while accelerating research investments. During the first half of fiscal 2027, SentinelOne posted a GAAP net loss of $169.5 million, marking a 39% reduction compared to the same period in the prior year. Excluding non-cash and one-off expenses such as stock-based compensation, the company generated an adjusted profit of $40.7 million. Management achieved this balance by trimming marketing outlays and channeling those savings into a 27% year-over-year increase in research and development spending.
