Wild Thing 100 Retires from Rolex Sydney Hobart

The 80th Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race has seen another retirement. wild Thing 100 is out of the race due to rigging issues.
This is a significant setback for Grant Wharington (30 Hobarts) and co-owner Adrian Seiffert (not on board). The new rig was intended to improve the performance of this highly modified 100-footer and keep it competitive.
Prior to the new rig installation, Wild Thing won Line Honours in the 2024 Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race and the inaugural Gold Coast Mackay Yacht Race, setting a record in the latter. The yacht completed five Rolex sydney Hobarts as an 80-footer, including in 2022 as Stefan racing and previously as Beau Geste.
