Levi Sandidge Shines at SEC Swimming Championships

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Kentucky Wildcats delivered strong performances at the 2026 SEC Swimming and Diving Championship, highlighted by a silver medal from senior Levi Sandidge, a consolation final appearance by Kristy Pfaff, and a new program record in the men’s 200 medley relay.

Day One: Diving Focus

The championship began with a lighter schedule focused on the men’s 1-meter diving event. Freshman Gabriel Perdigao secured points for the Wildcats, finishing 19th with a score of 294.70.

Day Two: Sandidge Secures Silver and Relay Record

The swimming competition commenced on Tuesday with the 1650 freestyle heats. Freshmen Sharon Guerrero Cho and Dzuigas Miskinis kicked off the events, with Miskinis achieving the third-best time in program history at 14:46.91, placing seventh overall.

Senior Levi Sandidge earned a silver medal in the 1650 freestyle, setting a new program best time of 14:30.04. This marks Sandidge’s fourth medal in the 1650 free throughout his four years as a Wildcat, including his second-place finish at the 2025 SEC Championship. Junior Carson Hick finished fourth in the event with a time of 14:39.87, repeating his performance from the previous season.

In the women’s 1-meter dive, Kristy Pfaff advanced to the consolation final, finishing second with a score of 283.70 after achieving 266.95 in the prelims.

The Wildcats concluded the day with a record-breaking performance in the men’s 200 medley relay, placing fourth with a time of 1:21.80. This time established a new program record, with team members Lysander Osman (20.21), Adomas Gatulis (23.12), Javier Lopez-Guillen (20.31), and Falemana Tuufui (18.16) all racing in their first SEC Championship.

Looking Ahead: Day Three

Day three of the championship will feature prelims for the 100 backstroke, 200 butterfly, and 100 breaststroke, starting at 9:30 a.m. ET. Men’s 3-meter diving prelims will follow at noon, with B-Finals immediately after. All sessions will be live streamed on SECN+, and results can be found on MeetMobile.
