“We are so excited to have Maya join us this fall,” Catanach Johnson said. “It was clear from our first conversations that her energy and experience will impact our gym right away. Not only has she played and trained at a high level for a long time, she’s also been a great leader and an even better teammate.”
“We are tremendously grateful that she chose William & Mary as the place she wants to finish her college career.”
Erika Larson Set to Join the Tribe as Freshman
Erika Larson, a 5-11 setter from Cary, North Carolina, joins William & Mary as a freshman after a successful high school career at Ravenscroft School. Larson was a four-year letterwinner and two-time captain, leading the Ravens to two TISAC Championships. She earned All-TISAC honors three times and was a two-time all-state selection. Larson also participated in the USA Volleyball National Training Development Program and received recognition as a PrepVolleyball AAU Standout, as well as being selected to the AVCA Phenom Watchlist and JVA Watchlist.
“Erika is an exceptional addition to an already strong freshman class and we cannot wait to get her on campus,” Catanach Johnson said. “I have been able to witness her growth over the last few years and know she will only continue to get better and better. Her calm, confident style of play lends well to her role as a setter and her setting abilities will only serve to bolster that position group and help us right away.”
