Willie Nelson’s Outlaw Music Festival Announces 2026 Tour with Avett Brothers, Sheryl Crow
Willie Nelson’s Outlaw Music Festival is returning to amphitheaters across the United States this summer, albeit with a smaller schedule than in recent years. Bob Dylan, a participant in the 2024 and 2025 iterations, will not be joining the tour this year.
The 2026 tour will feature performances by Willie Nelson & Family, The Avett Brothers, Lukas Nelson, Wilco, Sheryl Crow, Margo Price, Robert Randolph, and Don Was and the Pan-Detroit Ensemble. The tour kicks off on July 3rd at the Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Texas, and concludes on August 30th at Albany Med Health System at SPAC in Saratoga Springs, New York, encompassing a total of 12 shows. This is a reduction from the 26 concerts in 2024 and 36 shows in 2025.
“With fewer appearances on the road this year, each night carries added significance,” a press release stated, “a rare chance to experience a living legend alongside a powerhouse lineup of iconic voices and next-generation trailblazers.”
Willie Nelson Continues Touring at 92
Willie Nelson, 92, remains the only artist scheduled to perform at all 12 shows. “Being on the road and playing for the fans is what I love to do,” Nelson said in a statement. “We don’t get to do as many shows as we used to, so every night out there means a little more. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone and making it a special time.”
Nelson’s recent live appearances included performances at the Luck Reunion events at his Luck Ranch in Spicewood, Texas. He is too embarking on a pre-Outlaw mini-tour starting April 22nd in Birmingham, Alabama, and concluding May 2nd in New Braunfels, Texas.
New Album and Bob Dylan’s Tour
Nelson is preparing to release his latest album, Dream Chaser, on May 29th. The album includes a new song, “I Can’t Read Your Mind,” co-written with Buddy Cannon and Bob Dylan.
While Dylan won’t be part of the Outlaw Festival this summer, he is currently on his own amphitheater tour, with stops in Woodinville, Washington, Thackerville, Oklahoma, and Vienna, Virginia. The reason for his absence from the Outlaw tour is unclear, but may be related to his preference for controlling the concert experience, including banning phone use, at his smaller-scale headline shows.
