Wolfson and Nemours Expand Pediatric Specialties in Jacksonville, Enhancing Pediatric Care Access
Jacksonville, Florida, children and families will have increased access to specialized pediatric care as Wolfson Children’s Hospital and Nemours Children’s Health expand their clinical collaboration. Starting in March 2026, Nemours clinicians will provide additional inpatient and outpatient specialty services at Wolfson Children’s Hospital, building upon a decades-long partnership.
Decades of Collaboration
Wolfson Children’s Hospital and Nemours Children’s Health have collaborated for many years, with Nemours physicians already providing specialty services such as general surgery, trauma surgery, and oncology at Wolfson Children’s Hospital, which is owned by Baptist Health Wolfson Children’s and Nemours Children’s.
Expanded Specialty Services
Beginning in March 2026, Nemours physicians and advanced practice providers will extend their services to include eight additional specialties at Wolfson Children’s Hospital:
- Neonatology and newborn services
- Critical care medicine in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
- Neurosurgery
- Infectious diseases
- Rheumatology
- Nephrology
- Physical medicine and rehabilitation
- Palliative care
Nemours will begin offering genetics services at the hospital in August 2026. Wolfson, Nemours expand pediatric specialties in Jacksonville
New Outpatient Clinics
The expanded partnership also includes plans for Nemours to open new outpatient clinics throughout the Jacksonville region. Transition from UF Health
This expansion follows an agreement reached in 2025 where Wolfson Children’s Hospital ended its longstanding clinical partnership with UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital, opting to consolidate and expand its pediatric services with Nemours Children’s Health. Wolfson announces expanded partnership with Nemours Children’s Health. This change aims to reduce the need for families to travel to Gainesville for certain specialized pediatric services.
