A woman has been arrested on suspicion of homicide following a fatal daylight shooting in Zalea, a district in the Malaga municipality of Pizarra on the Costa del Sol, according to local police and emergency services. The incident occurred shortly before 2pm on September 14, 2026, when the 112 Andalusia emergency service received multiple calls reporting gunshots and a seriously injured person in the middle of a public street.

Emergency responders, including members of the Civil Guard, local police, health services, and a police helicopter, rushed to the scene following the emergency calls, as reported by the Daily Express. Medics attempted to save the victim, who had been shot in the chest, but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Authorities stated the victim is between 45 and 50 years old, though his nationality has not yet been released. According to several reports, the man was shot more than once.
