Mizzou Women’s Basketball Secures Victory Over illinois, 71-68

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri women’s basketball team defeated the Illinois Fighting Illini 71-68 on Wednesday evening at the Mizzou Arena. The Tigers (7-3) held off a late Illinois rally, securing the win with strong free-throw shooting down the stretch.

The game was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams trading leads throughout. Mizzou built a lead in the third quarter, but illinois responded with a strong push in the fourth. Ultimately, Mizzou was able to hold onto its lead at the free-throw line and close out the contest.

Senior forward Hayley Frank led the Tigers in scoring with 22 points, while guard Sara-Chisom Ndlovu added 14 points. Freshman forward Emma Sutcliffe contributed 11 points and a team-high 7 rebounds.
