Louisville Defeats Georgia Tech in ACC Matchup, 69-50

THE FLATS – No. 10/11 Louisville secured a 69-50 victory over Georgia Tech in an ACC women’s basketball showdown at McCamish Pavilion on Thursday, February 26, 2026.1

Talayah Walker led the Yellow Jackets with 20 points and six rebounds, adding two steals to her performance.1 Brianna Turnage contributed significantly with 10 rebounds, her 19th game of the season reaching double-digit rebounds, and finished with eight points.1

First Half

The game began with a 5-0 run by Louisville, quickly answered by five consecutive points from Walker to tie the score.1 A three-pointer from Ariadna Termis and a driving layup by Walker gave Georgia Tech their first lead of the night, 13-8, fueled by an 8-0 run.1 Louisville responded with a run of their own to end the first quarter, leading 18-13.

Termis opened the second quarter with a three-pointer, narrowing the gap to 18-16.1 Louisville extended their advantage to 28-18 before Georgia Tech scored four straight points. Walker added another basket before halftime, leaving Louisville ahead 36-24. A clutch block by D’Asia Thomas-Harris prevented a final Louisville basket as the half concluded.1

Second Half

Walker continued her strong performance, scoring the first basket of the third quarter.1 Turnage earned an and-one play to halt a Louisville run, and later added a step-back jumper. Samuel similarly contributed with a score in transition, but Louisville led 54-34 entering the fourth quarter.1

Walker opened the fourth quarter with a three-pointer, her second of the night, and added seven points in the final ten minutes. Though, Louisville maintained control and secured the 69-50 win. Thomas-Harris added five points in the final frame.1
