West Virginia State Women’s Basketball Defeats Davis & Elkins, Prepares for Matchup Against West Virginia Wesleyan
ELKINS, W.Va. — Kenly Rogers scored a career-high 33 points as West Virginia State defeated Davis & Elkins 87–62 in a Mountain East Conference game Wednesday night at the McDonnell Center. The Yellow Jackets (11–13, 7–10 MEC) built a 22–14 first-quarter lead by forcing turnovers and converting them into quick offense.

Davis & Elkins (1–25, 0–17 MEC) attempted to close the gap in the first quarter, but West Virginia State maintained control, leading 36–27 at halftime. The Yellow Jackets extended their lead in the third quarter, outscoring Davis & Elkins and finishing the period with a 62–49 advantage. Despite some three-pointers from D&E, West Virginia State responded with finishes at the rim and perimeter shots.
