Worcestershire County Cricket Club Unveils Sustainable 2026 Kit with Macron
Worcestershire County Cricket Club has launched its 2026 teamwear range in partnership with Italian sportswear brand Macron, marking the manufacturer’s first venture into English county cricket. The new kits emphasize sustainability and innovative design, blending Italian artistry with contemporary street art.
A New Era for Worcestershire County Cricket Club
The 2026 kits, designed in collaboration with BEARD, the club’s official creative partners, are inspired by the “Art of the Game” creative direction. This approach merges traditional Renaissance-based Italian art with modern street art concepts. The launch signifies a landmark partnership for both Worcestershire County Cricket Club and Macron.
Sustainable Materials and Manufacturing
Sustainability is a core principle of the 2026 teamwear range. All kits are manufactured using Eco Gotex, a fabric made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic. This commitment reflects Macron’s focus on reducing waste and promoting energy efficiency throughout the design and manufacturing process.
Kit Features and Design
The 2026 range includes new designs for the Men’s Rothesay County Championship shirt, as well as both the Men’s and Women’s Worcestershire Rapids Vitality Blast T20 and Metro Bank One Day Cup shirts. For the first time, the Club’s Men’s and Women’s Rapids teams will debut separate kits for each white-ball format, offering tailored cuts for both men and women.
The Metro Bank One Day Cup champions will sport a dark kit featuring overlapping graffiti-style lettering in shades of grey on a black shirt. The design incorporates over 1,865 Worcestershire ‘tags’ relating to the Rapids theme, a nod to the club’s founding year of 1865.
Material Breakdown
- Polyester: A lightweight, breathable fabric resistant to creasing and moisture-wicking.
- Elastane: Provides elastic properties for maximum freedom of movement and durability.
- Polyurethane: Used for adding names, numbers, and logos to the shirts.
Industry Response
Joe Tromans, chief revenue officer at Worcestershire County Cricket Club, highlighted the launch as a landmark moment, emphasizing the club’s commitment to innovation and evolution both on and off the field. Andrea Palilla, Macron’s country manager for the UK and Ireland, expressed pride in the partnership, calling it a significant step for Macron into English county cricket.
