Grants Fund Women Peace and Security Projects Across Southeast Asia
The Asia Foundation’s AMPLIFY program is offering grants of up to USD 3,000 for civil society initiatives focused on Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) across Southeast Asia. Individuals, informal groups, and organizations from eight countries can apply for the funding to run small-scale pilot projects between November 2026 and March 2027.
Eligible applicants have until November 6, 2026, to submit their proposals for projects addressing environmental security, digital transformation, or women’s participation in peacebuilding. Successful applicants will also receive invitations to a 2-day regional convening in early 2027, with expenses covered separately by the AMPLIFY program.
Eligible Countries and Applicants Across the Region
The funding opportunity targets applicants based in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Indonesia, Philippines, Timor-Leste, Thailand, and Vietnam. Eligible participants include women human rights defenders, WPS, women’s equality, or peacebuilding practitioners, artists, storytellers, creative practitioners, researchers, advocates, informal groups and networks, and women’s rights and civil society organizations. Applicants need to demonstrate relevant experience or a strong commitment to WPS issues, and they must complete their proposed projects within the November 2026 to March 2027 timeframe. English proficiency is required for participants attending the regional convening in 2027.
Three Priority Themes for Pilot Initiatives
Proposals must address at least one of three designated themes outlined by the program. The environmental security theme covers natural disasters, environmental degradation, and water insecurity, reflecting Southeast Asia’s high vulnerability to climate risks. The digital transformation theme focuses on women’s participation in technology, digital safety, and countering technology-facilitated violence. The third theme targets women’s participation in peacebuilding, enhancing women’s roles in conflict prevention and peace processes.
Activities can range from short research, evidence-gathering or analysis, a digital tool or platform, a participatory workshop or dialogue, an advocacy initiative, artwork, storytelling, film or performance, to testing a new approach or methodology. According to materials from the Asia Foundation, projects may be produced in English or local languages, except for agreed research outputs requiring regional dissemination.
Application Requirements and Submission Process
Applicants must download the official application set, which includes a statement of interest, a description of the activity, a CV/portfolio, an indicative budget, and other documents.
