WWE’s The Usos to Appear on MLB Opening Night Broadcast on Netflix

The 2026 Major League Baseball season kicks off with a historic broadcast on Netflix, featuring a special appearance by WWE World Tag Team Champions, The Usos (Jey and Jimmy Uso). The San Francisco Giants will host the New York Yankees in the first-ever MLB game streamed live on the platform, with coverage beginning on March 25th.

Netflix announced that The Usos will be “special guests” during the broadcast, joining Jameis Winston as contributors to the display . While their specific roles remain unknown, their connection to San Francisco – where they were both born – makes them a fitting addition to the broadcast.

Pre-game coverage begins at 7 pm EST/4 pm PST, with the game itself starting at 8:05 pm EST/5:05 pm PST at Oracle Park in San Francisco . This marks Netflix’s foray into live MLB coverage, with plans to also broadcast the T-Mobile Home Run Derby on July 13th and the Field of Dreams Game between the Philadelphia Phillies and Minnesota Twins on August 13th .

Netflix has previously streamed live sports events, including boxing matches, NFL games, and WWE Monday Night RAW . New episodes of RAW air on Netflix every Monday night at 8 pm EST in the United States.

WWE ID Contracts and New Talent

In addition to The Usos’ appearance, WWE has recently awarded contracts to emerging talents Starboy Charlie and Notorious Mimi. Starboy Charlie secured a WWE ID contract after defeating Cappucino Jones at a Wrestling Open event in Rhode Island . He will face Marcus Mathers at the ID Showcase on April 16th. Notorious Mimi, formerly known as Sloane Jacobs in NXT, also earned a contract and will challenge Layne Luck for her Women’s WWE ID Championship at the same event .

WWE Scout Praises Indie Talent

WWE scout Gabe Sapolsky recently lauded indie wrestlers Allie Katch and Laynie Luck following a match at Women’s Wrestling Revolution. Sapolsky described their match as “one of the best indie matches” he’s seen since September 2022, praising Luck as “one of the most improved talents” he’s ever observed . Luck even publicly advocated for Katch to be signed by WWE.
