Xiaomi Book Pro 14: A Return to Form with Intel Panther Lake

Xiaomi has re-entered the notebook market after a three-year hiatus with the launch of the Xiaomi Book Pro 14, an ultra-thin laptop powered by Intel’s latest Panther Lake processors. This marks a significant return for the Xiaomi brand, following a period focused on the RedmiBook series.

Ultra-Lightweight Design

The Xiaomi Book Pro 14 prioritizes portability with a focus on minimizing weight while maintaining structural integrity. The laptop features a unibody die-cast magnesium alloy frame, which is over 30% lighter than traditional aluminum. A 3D-pressed carbon fiber bottom cover and a titanium alloy keyboard support further contribute to its lightweight design. The result is a laptop weighing just 1.08 kg (approximately 2.38 lbs) and measuring 14.95 mm (0.59 inches) in thickness, positioning it among the lightest 14-inch laptops currently available.

The laptop will be available in three color options: White, Elegant Gray and Soft Fog Blue.

Intel Panther Lake Performance

At the heart of the Xiaomi Book Pro 14 lies Intel’s latest generation Core Ultra processors with Panther Lake architecture. The top-end configuration boasts the Core Ultra 7 358H, featuring 16 cores (4 P-cores + 8 E-cores + 4 ray tracing cores), a maximum clock speed of 4.8 GHz, and 18 MB of L3 cache. This processor integrates the Intel Arc B390 integrated GPU, which Xiaomi claims delivers gaming performance comparable to Nvidia’s RTX 4050 Laptop GPU, capable of handling AAA games at over 60 FPS.

For users seeking a more affordable option, a configuration with the Core Ultra 5 325 processor will as well be available. This chip features 8 cores (4 P-cores + 4 LPE-cores) and a clock speed of up to 4.5 GHz, manufactured using Intel’s 18A process.

Memory options include configurations with 24GB or 32GB of RAM paired with a 1TB SSD.

Advanced Cooling System

Despite its ultra-thin profile, Xiaomi promises robust performance through an advanced cooling system. The laptop incorporates a 10,000 mm² vapor chamber, a high-speed low-noise fan, and a three-channel airflow layout. This system is designed to maintain stable performance at up to 50W, even when operating on battery power.

Early benchmark results shared on Weibo show the Core Ultra 7 358H configuration achieving 124 points in single-core and 1,103 points in multi-core on Cinebench R24. In graphics tests, it scored 7,163 points in 3DMark Time Spy and 6,872 points in Fire Strike Extreme.

Connectivity and Ports

The Xiaomi Book Pro 14 offers a comprehensive selection of ports, including HDMI, a 3.5mm headphone jack, one USB-A port, and two USB-C ports, with at least one supporting Thunderbolt connectivity.

Availability

The Xiaomi Book Pro 14 will initially launch in China, with a global release expected to follow. Pricing and specific availability dates for international markets have not yet been announced.
