Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Races into gran Turismo 7 – A First for Chinese Automakers
Xiaomi’s high-performance electric vehicle, the SU7 Ultra, has made history as the first car from a Chinese brand to be featured in the popular racing simulation game, Gran Turismo 7. The inclusion, announced on Wednesday, marks a significant milestone for the burgeoning Chinese automotive industry and provides global gamers wiht a virtual experience of China’s advanced EV technology.
Xiaomi founder Lei Jun highlighted the strategic intent behind this collaboration in a promotional video. He stated that the integration into Gran Turismo 7 is designed to allow players worldwide to experience firsthand the exceptional performance and handling characteristics of a cutting-edge, smart electric vehicle developed in China.
The SU7 Ultra boasts a powerful tri-motor electric powertrain, delivering a combined output of 1,548 horsepower. This translates to blistering acceleration, with the vehicle capable of reaching 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill in a mere 1.98 seconds. Demonstrating its capabilities on the track,the SU7 Ultra previously established a new production-car lap record at the Shanghai International Circuit,completing a lap in an impressive 2 minutes and 9.944 seconds, according to Xiaomi.
This virtual debut in Gran Turismo 7 is expected to further elevate the SU7 Ultra’s profile and showcase the innovation coming from Chinese EV manufacturers to a global audience.
