Xiaomi Expands Ecosystem with New Devices at MWC 2026

Barcelona – Xiaomi has unveiled a range of new ecosystem devices ahead of Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026, signaling a strategic move to broaden its connected device offerings beyond smartphones. The company announced the global launch of the Xiaomi Tag, a Bluetooth tracker; the Redmi Buds 8 Pro earbuds; and the UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank 5000, all debuting at a global event in Barcelona on February 28, 2026.

Xiaomi Tag: A New Contender in the Smart Tracker Market

The Xiaomi Tag is a compact Bluetooth tracker designed to help users locate everyday items like keys, wallets, and bags. It offers cross-network support, including compatibility with Apple’s Find My network and Android devices via the Xiaomi Home app, positioning it as a competitor to Apple’s AirTag. The Xiaomi Tag weighs approximately 10 grams and features a design intended for easy attachment to personal belongings without adding significant bulk.

Technical specifications include Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity, NFC for simplified pairing, a CR2032 battery with an estimated one-year lifespan, and an internal speaker for audible tracking. Even as Ultra-Wideband (UWB) support has not been confirmed, the tracker relies on Bluetooth technology for location accuracy.

Redmi Buds 8 Pro: Premium Audio Features

The Redmi Buds 8 Pro earbuds boast premium audio features, including active noise cancellation (ANC) up to 55 dB, support for the LDAC codec for high-resolution audio, and a triple-driver coaxial system designed to enhance bass and clarity. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.4, dual-device pairing, and Google Fast Pair for a seamless user experience.

The Redmi Buds 8 Pro offer a total battery life of up to 33 hours with the charging case and feature a commuting mode that adjusts ANC levels based on the surrounding environment. Available colors include Cloud White, Glacier Blue, and Obsidian Black.

UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank 5000: Portability and Convenience

The UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank 5000 features a 5000 mAh battery in a slim profile of around 6 mm thick. It supports wireless charging up to 15W and wired charging up to 22.5W, offering a balance of portability and capacity. The magnetic design allows for convenient attachment to compatible devices.

Expanding the Xiaomi Ecosystem

Xiaomi’s launch strategy demonstrates a focus on expanding its ecosystem of integrated devices, aiming to provide users with a more comprehensive and versatile technology experience. The introduction of these new products intensifies competition in the smart device market.

The Xiaomi Tag, Redmi Buds 8 Pro, and UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank 5000 represent Xiaomi’s commitment to strengthening its global device ecosystem through innovation, portability, and user-friendly design, as it prepares to compete in the growing smart tracker and premium TWS markets.
