(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Oh Myung-eon = Global sports brand Yonex has signed an official sponsorship agreement with Samsung Life Insurance Badminton Team, a prestigious domestic badminton team, for the next four years.
Yonex announced on the 11th that it signed an agreement with Samsung Life Insurance’s badminton team at its Seocho office building in Seoul on the 10th.
Through this agreement, Yonex plans to officially sponsor game equipment such as badminton rackets, shoes, and clothing to Samsung Life Insurance’s players and coaches.
In addition, we plan to produce customized uniforms that reflect the team’s identity to help players compete in the best condition possible.
Samsung Life Insurance is a top domestic club with many national team players, including Ahn Se-young, world number one in women’s singles, Seo Seung-jae and Kim Won-ho, world number one in men’s doubles, and Kim Hye-jeong, world number five in women’s doubles.
Kim Se-jun, CEO of Yonex, said, “Based on the technology we have developed with world-class players, we will spare no effort in supporting Samsung Life Insurance players so that they can demonstrate their best skills. We hope that this agreement will lead to expansion of the base of Korean badminton and strengthening of international competitiveness.”
Samsung Life Insurance also responded, saying, “The sponsorship of Yonex, a global brand, will be a great motivation for the athletes,” and added, “Based on the support of the best equipment, we will repay the team with good results in domestic and international competitions.”
