Shoei Darvish, the son of San Diego padres pitcher Yu Darvish, has officially committed to play baseball at UC San Diego. The right-handed pitcher is part of the Tritons’ incoming Class of 2026, bringing a notable pedigree to the program. The announcement was made by UC San Diego on December 9, 2025.
