Yung Miami Addresses Support for Diddy, Discusses City Girls’ Future
Yung Miami recently opened up about her decision to write a letter of support for Diddy following his legal battles and addressed the status of her musical partnership with JT as City Girls. In a wide-ranging interview with Charlamagne Tha God on The Breakfast Club YouTube channel, the rapper explained her reasoning and discussed the personal and professional consequences of her support for the embattled mogul.
Letter of Support and Personal Cost
Yung Miami penned a letter to Judge Arun Subramanian requesting leniency in Diddy’s sentencing after he was found guilty in July 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. She explained that she wrote the letter based on her personal experience with Diddy, believing he had changed. “I wrote a letter for a changed man. I think that the man that I met and that I experienced was changed,” she stated. “I’m not gonna justify some bulls**t or like support some bull if I felt like that person wasn’t changed.”
However, Miami revealed that publicly supporting Diddy came at a significant cost. She stated she lost business deals, money, and relationships as a result of her association with him. “It did. Bad,” she revealed. “It just, it was a lot. Like I lost deals. I lost money. I lost relationships. I lost a lot. And you know, here I am.”
The Status of City Girls
The interview also touched on the future of City Girls, the duo comprised of Yung Miami and JT. Despite recent distance between the two artists, Miami expressed a desire to reconcile and continue the group. She suggested a willingness to attend therapy with JT to address their differences. “Let us both grow, you know, as individuals,” she said. “And I think that time will reach. And I also think we both got to be ready.”
Despite a period of separation, Yung Miami emphasized that City Girls is not over. She affirmed, “I wouldn’t never just ‘off’ the City Girls. We built this together, you know? Like we did a lot together. To just say that it never happened or just act like it’s just dead, you know? Like, it’s forever going to be the City Girls.”
Diddy’s Sentencing
Sean “Diddy” Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison and is scheduled for release in April 2028, following his conviction on charges related to the Mann Act. He was found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and acquitted of more serious charges.
