Physical preorders for Nintendo’s upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time are currently available at a $10 discount on Amazon, dropping the price from $69.99 to $59.99, as mashable.com reported. Amazon lowers physical preorder price for Zelda remake
The Nintendo Switch 2 remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time carries an official release date of November 5, 2026. While digital copies remain priced at $59.99, Amazon reduced the physical edition from $69.99 to $59.99. Buyers utilizing this retailer also receive a preorder price guarantee, ensuring customers pay the lowest price offered between the initial order placement and the actual shipping date.
Collectors eyeing the physical release will find special packaging included in the initial print run. Nintendo scheduled this launch alongside a broader franchise celebration, introducing Legend of Zelda-themed hardware on October 29, 2026. That hardware lineup features a special-edition Switch 2 console, a Pro Controller, and a dedicated carrying case to mark the series’ 40th anniversary.
Leaked Details Point To Ambitious Gameplay Modernizations
While Nintendo released only a brief teaser trailer prior to official retail listings, gameplay details surfaced online ahead of the September 8 Zelda 40th anniversary Direct livestream. Felipe stated that the development team applied a diversity of modernizations and rethought core systems to create an ambitious project rather than a direct port.
This approach places the title outside the scope of faithful remakes like the Switch version of Link’s Awakening. Official confirmation regarding these system overhauls is expected during the upcoming Nintendo Direct presentation.
