Jeff Bezos, Sam Altman, Tim Cook, Sundar Pichai, Jensen Huang, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg….A series of images have been shaking up social networks since November 21. They would respectively show the leaders of Amazon, Open AI (owner of ChatGPT), Apple, Alphabet (owner of Google), NVIDIA (largest manufacturer of graphics chips), Tesla and Meta, gathered together in all simplicity in a modest room and in a parking lot. These so-called photographs of the Tech billionaires appear realistic and consistent with each other: Elon Musk and Jensen Huang, the director of NVIDIA, are wearing their famous leather jackets in the photos of the room and the parking lot. Mark Zuckerberg and Tim Cook are dressed with their usual casualness, in a simple sweater and jeans.

The bedroom shot has garnered more than 8.7 million views on X. “The money in this room can buy all of Africa,” comments a Nigerian internet user on Instagram.
However, all of these photos are fake: they were likely created by Google’s new image-generating AI, Nano Banana Pro.

The Tell-Tale Signs: How We Spotted an AI-Generated Photo of Tech Billionaires
A photo circulating online purportedly showing a meeting of tech billionaires – including Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos – sparked a wave of skepticism. our team at France 24 Observers quickly determined the image was likely created by artificial intelligence. Here’s how we spotted the flaws.
Like other artificial intelligences, Nano Banano Pro had difficulty generating correct textual content. By zooming in on the television screen present in the photo of the meeting in the room, we see that the characters displayed are illegible.
Another mistake, a mirror at the back of the room displays a distorted face of the character supposed to be Elon Musk. AIs are still having trouble correctly generating the background of their shot.

A recently published image generated by Nano Banana Pro reveals inconsistencies when depicting real-world objects. The image, featuring tech executives, includes a Tesla Cybertruck with noticeable differences compared to the actual vehicle.
Nano Banana Pro struggles with accurately reproducing objects, despite initially appearing realistic. A comparison with the genuine Cybertruck highlights these anomalies. The generated image doesn’t perfectly replicate the vehicle’s design.
These discrepancies demonstrate the current limitations of AI image generation technology. While capable of creating convincing scenes, it can still falter with precise object depiction. This is particularly evident when recreating complex designs like the Cybertruck.
